Introduction. Prayer is fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. Believers come to the Father with worship, thanksgiving, confession, requests, intercession, questions, silence, and surrender. Prayer does not depend upon impressive language or many words. God already knows what is needed, yet He invites His children to draw near, speak honestly, listen through Scripture and the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and entrust every concern to His wisdom and care. Prayer is consciously turning toward God and communicating with Him through faith in Jesus Christ. It includes honoring who God is, thanking Him, confessing sin, asking for daily needs, praying for others, receiving Scripture, becoming quiet before Him, and yielding personal desires to His will. Prayer is not a formula for controlling outcomes or proving spirituality. Feelings may be strong or quiet, but faithful prayer rests upon God’s character rather than emotional intensity. Listening in prayer should remain grounded in Scripture and tested with humility, wisdom, and the character of Christ. Offer your personal prayer. Heavenly Father, teach me to pray with honesty, faith, reverence, and confidence through Jesus Christ. Quiet the distractions within me and help me become attentive to Your truth. I worship You for who You are, thank You for Your goodness, confess what is wrong, and place my needs and the needs of others before You.
