SPIRITUAL TEACHING · KJV

Obeying What God Has Shown You

Allow the spiritual work happening within you to influence your choices, conduct, and relationships.

WHAT MAY BE HAPPENING WITHIN YOU

You may already know the next faithful step yet continue waiting for more confirmation, stronger emotion, easier circumstances, or complete certainty. Delay can feel safer than action. God invites you to respond to the truth He has made clear while remaining humble about impressions that still require testing.

SCRIPTURE FOUNDATION · KING JAMES VERSION

John 14:21 KJV

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

James 4:17 KJV

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

Luke 11:28 KJV

“But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”

INNER TEACHING

Obedience turns spiritual understanding into lived faithfulness. Jesus connects keeping His commandments with love. You do not obey to purchase His love; you obey because grace has brought you into relationship with Him. When Scripture has clearly shown what is right, endless searching can become a way to postpone surrender. The next step may be confession, forgiveness, truthful speech, a repaired commitment, generosity, a boundary, seeking help, or completing a neglected responsibility. Name it specifically. James warns that knowing the good without doing it carries responsibility. Yet obedience must be distinguished from acting upon every private impression. God’s revealed Word is authoritative; personal feelings, dreams, inner prompts, and advice must be tested. Ask whether the action agrees with Scripture in context, reflects Christ’s character, respects another person’s freedom, fits your actual responsibility, and withstands wise counsel and verified facts. Never use “God showed me” to control someone else, demand access, override consent, ignore medical or legal advice, or justify unsafe behavior. Humble obedience remains accountable and correctable. Once the step is clear, reduce it to an action you can begin. If reconciliation is required, prepare truthful and responsible words. If restitution is needed, calculate what can be returned. If a habit must change, remove access and seek support. Do not wait for fear to disappear before obeying, but do distinguish fear from a legitimate safety warning. Leaving abuse, contacting authorities, receiving treatment, or consulting a qualified professional may itself be obedience. Expect that action may be imperfect. You may need to adjust your method, repair an error, or receive further guidance. Delayed obedience should lead to confession, not condemnation. Receive forgiveness and begin now. Luke records Jesus blessing those who hear God’s Word and keep it. The blessing is not always ease or immediate visible success. It is the integrity of a life increasingly aligned with Christ. Obey what is clear, test what is uncertain, and entrust the results to God.

REFLECT BEFORE GOD

What clear good have I postponed while waiting for more certainty or comfort? What first responsible action would express obedience today?

YOUR ALPHAMATION

Read it, speak it, and receive it by faith.

I hear the Word of God and keep it. I do not obey to earn God’s love; I respond because Jesus Christ has loved me and brought me into grace. When Scripture makes the good clear, I refuse endless delay. I name the next step, seek wisdom for the method, and act responsibly. I test private impressions through Scripture, Christlike character, facts, counsel, consent, and safety. Through the Holy Spirit, I obey what is clear, remain teachable where I may be mistaken, and entrust every outcome to God. Amen.
